Happy Father's Day! Celebrate with These Dad-Owned Shopify Stores

Signed into law in 1972, the third Sunday of June is celebrated in the US as Father’s Day. This Father’s Day, Fyresite wants to celebrate fathers and father figures everywhere by highlighting a few Shopify stores that are owned by dads.

DAD SZN

Football season may end with the Superbowl, but there is no off-season for parenthood. Founded by Pat O’Donnell and Nick Foley of the NFL, DAD SZN is a celebration of dads and a challenge to the societal norm and stereotypes around dads. Their mission is to foster connection between dads, to create an inclusive, diverse representation of fatherhood, and to create a sense of community and empowerment between dads. 

DAD SZN sells apparel and accessories celebrating dad season and the fact that there is no day off. On their Shopify store, you can buy apparel for men, women, and children. Celebrate dads everyday with a hat or shirt from DAD SZN.  

Loog Guitars 

Loog Guitars started as a Master’s thesis at New York University. Now, it’s a company that sells guitars, pianos, lessons, apps, and even has a TV show.  The Loog guitar was designed as a replacement for child guitars that were currently on the market. Unlike those guitars, which were often just smaller, cheaper guitars, the Loog guitar is an usable guitar, just with 3 strings instead of 6. This makes it easier for a child to hold the neck of the instrument and learn.

The best part is that 3 strings doesn’t limit the music that can be played. You can play any chord, as they usually consist of no more than 3 notes. The only difference is that it won’t sound as rich and full bodied as a full string guitar. The Loog guitar started as a Master’s thesis before becoming a Kickstarter in 2011. In 2019, to fund their new line, they opened another Kickstarter and raised over half a million dollars, turning the Loog guitar into the best selling guitar on Kickstarter. And they’re not just for kids - they have a Loog Mini, which works for players of any and all ages. 

The Bad Dad’s Club

Don’t be fooled by the name; The Bad Dad’s Club is a celebration of fatherhood. These so-called bad dads are dedicated to work and play, to being engaged and present with their kids, without sacrificing who they are outside of being fathers.

The Bad Dad’s Club sells apparel and accessories for bad dads, bad moms, bad grandparents, and bad kids. They also sell home goods such as mugs and pins. When you purchase from this eCommerce store, you’re doing more than just buying a product. You’re supporting a (literal!) mom-and-pop store, a small business, and a family owned business. 

Ridge

This company is owned and operated by a father-son duo who believed they could make wallets better. That was 10 years ago. Today, they’re taking that same mentality to more everyday items. Ridge takes a “materials-first” approach to their products. What does that mean? It means that they’re bringing in the best in for your product from the first step. 

This Shopify store sells more than just the wallets they are known for. Today, they also sell luggage, bags, cases, portable chargers, and even wedding rings. For the sport fan in your life, you can buy official NFL and/or MLB gear. 

Dad Gang Co.

By dads, for dads. Dad Gang Co. was created when three dads noticed that social media portrayed only some parts of being a dad. In their group chat, they were talking about all aspects, not just the ones that are the punchline to a joke. Dad Gang Co. makes apparel to celebrate the hard parts, and to foster a community so dads know that they’re not the only ones going through the gauntlet of parenthood.
