🚩 How to find the right Shopify Agency

🚩 The "Partner" Impersonator

Some agencies use confusing language like “Shopify experts” to imply they are vetted by Shopify when they actually aren't. Luckily, you can check by searching the Official Shopify Partner Directory.

• Green Flag: An agency that is an Active Shopify Partner. This means they’ve met (and maintained) Shopify’s strict standards for quality and trust.

🚩 Empty Promises Without Discovery

It’s easy to say "yes" to every request during a sales call. But without a discovery phase, those promises are usually hollow.

• Green Flag: An agency that verifies before promising. A trustworthy partner will tell you they need to dig into the technical requirements first to find the most cost-effective and scalable solution.

🚩 The "Black Box" Price Tag

If you’re quoted a flat lump sum with no line-item breakdown, there’s a problem. They are either hiding a massive markup or they don't actually know how much work is involved.

• Green Flag: A Detailed Scope of Work (SOW). This is a legal document that breaks down exactly where every dollar of your budget is going.

🚩 They Don’t Care About Your Bottom Line

If an agency only talks about how the site looks and never asks about your business, they aren't a partner: they’re a vendor.

• Green Flag: They ask about your Conversion Rate (CR), Average Order Value (AOV), and Revenue Goals. A good agency builds a store for your customers, not just for a design portfolio.
